Sculptor Terry Lee, left, and, author Susan Nipp, with Mudgy & Millie charactoers at a recent library program.
Author Susan Nipp and sculptor Terry Lee will sign copies of “Mudgy & Millie” Sunday, July 5, 1-3 p.m. at Independence Point in Coeur d’Alene. Copies of the book and official ‘Mudgy & Millie’ merchandise will be available to buy from the Coeur d’Alene Public Library Foundation. In case of inclement weather the activity will move to the Community Room at the Coeur d’Alene Public Library, 702 E. Front Ave. “Mudgy & Millie” tells the story of a moose and a mouse playing hide and seek in downtown Coeur d’Alene. Nipp, who is also the author of the nationally known “Wee Sing” series of children’s books, wrote the book. It was illustrated by Charles Reasoner. Both have signed over all royalties from the book and related merchandise to the Library Foundation. Lee worked with Nipp and Reasoner to create five bronze statues which were installed last year along the Mudgy Moose Trail. The statues, which are nearly lifesize, were funded by private donations with installation and signage paid for through the Coeur d’Alene Arts Commission. News about the library and other city departments is also available on the City of Coeur d’Alene news blog: http://cdacity.blogspot.com/.
