Cd’A Library to Host ‘Booker’s Dozen’

When is a book a piece of art?
When it is part of “Booker’s Dozen 2013,” a traveling exhibit from the Idaho Center for the Book to be on display at the Coeur d’Alene Public Library during November.
The exhibit, the tenth sponsored by the Boise State University center, will be displayed in the cases in the library’s Parkside Gallery adjacent to the Seagraves Children’s Library on the lower level, 702 E. Front Ave.
“The Internet has fanned the flames of our fame, making Idaho Booker’s Dozen a truly international affair, with books from all over Idaho as well as from the United Kingdom, Germany and the Netherlands, as well as other non-Idahoan locations in the USA,” said Stephanie Brook, director of the Center for the Book.
This year's entries were juried by New Zealand artist Kate Walker; Boise State Professor of Graphic Design Jennifer Wood; artist-writer-designer Will Spearman, and writer-photographer-artist Tom Rockne.
“Booker’s Dozen 2013” began its current tour in Moscow in February, and after stops all over the state spent October in Idaho Falls. After its November display in Coeur d’Alene it returns to Boise.
